Municipal services include the Town Office that serves as the nerve center
for the town Police Department and the Alberta Water and Sewer Department.
The town provides municipal water to about 225 households and sewer to 120
homes. Billing is once a month.

The town is served by a two man police department. In addition, the town is patrolled by
the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department and the Virginia State Police. Both the town
and the county enjoy a very low crime rate.
Fiber optic cable and a high-speed wireless backbone both run along U.S. 1.
The town is served by SuddenLink Cable Television franchise, formerly
Charter Communications. A new service is Mid Atlantic Wireless, a high
speed wireless internet service.
On and off ramps onto I-85 are situated along U.S. 1 within the town limits.

The town has an active Volunteer Fire Department and are housed in
new quarters on U.S. 1. Because of close proximity to the majority of
households, the town's ISO rating is low resulting in lower insurance
premiums.
